ADSL broadband – or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line – used to be the most basic and common type of broadband internet connection but due to the Public Switch Telephony (PSTN) switch off is not longer available in the United Kingdom.

ADSL broadband is delivered directly to your premises down standard copper phone line wires, with the PSTN switch off removing copper based services by December 2025, copper based services are no longer available due to the national stop sell, which prohibits the sale of new copper based connections. As a result of this ADSL is no longer an option for businesses and a fibre broadband option is required to ensure a stable broadband connection for businesses.

Whilst personal broadband is usually lower in cost, business broadband is arguably better value become of the benefits it brings with it.
